Method
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking into small pieces as it browns.
- If the sausage is not very greasy, add the butter and allow it to melt.
- Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir well so the flour coats the meat.
- Cook the flour mixture for about 1-2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.
- Slowly pour in about 2 cups milk, stirring constantly.
- Let the gravy simmer until thickened. Add more milk as needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Season with salt, pepper, and seasoning to taste.
- Serve over hot fresh biscuits.
Notes
If the gravy becomes to thick, simply stir in a little more milk.
For extra flavor, add plenty of freshly cracked black pepper.
